This time, Bang & Olufsen for the first time integrates technologies and design into a notebook. David Lewis, Bang & Olufsen product designers, were involved in designing the notebook. The result is Asus NX90JQ .

“David Lewis wants to design a special notebook. Usually, the notebook is placed in the workspace. He wanted a notebook can be displayed in the living room,” said Juliana Chen, Business Development Manager for Asus Indonesia, while introducing NX90JQ in Jakarta, Thursday (11/10/2010) .

Juliana explains the design team of Ice Bang & Olufsen and the Golden Ear Asus collaborate to develop new-generation audio technology which is called Sonicmaster. Audio codec used is claimed to be  the best quality. Amplifier is 11 watts or three times more powerful than the standard notebook. The speakers used are each 32 mm in diameter, while the standard notebook usually only uses 20 mm. Chamber for audio is 108 cc, compared with a standard notebook which is only 20 cc.

“Why do we pay attention to audio quality? On our analysis, in a whole day people doing activities related to the audio for 9.27 hours.  Ther fore,  audio is very important,” said Juliana.

Not only the audio quality which is superior, but also the appearance of luxury. The body uses a special material, a shining aluminum (polished aluminum). In fact, this product is claimed to be the first notebook that uses this material.

Two speakers were mounted on either side of the screen suspended from the keyboard. Touchpad is also unusual because there are two on the right and left side of the keyboard rather than at the bottom. The design is to give flexibility to users, including those who are  left-handed. Because it is not designed for high mobility, but to be used inside a room, the notebook uses jumbo screen size of 18.4 inches.
However, do not be surprised if one unit costs 2,609 U.S. dollars. “The target is for businesses and professionals with experience,” said Juliana.

By default, ASUS Eee PC 1000HA 10-Inch Netbook  is shipped with 1 GB of RAM. For some people, they prefer to invest another $30 to get 2 GB of RAM. If you are among these people then this netbook is the right one for you. The RAM is very easy to install, you only need a small screw driver to open the RAM enclosure, replace the old RAM, and that even wouldn’t void the warranty. After the new RAM installation, don’t forget to go to the BIOS, press F2 when the system start up, and just click save changes and exit.
