Performance

Horsed by the powerful 2.20GHz Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T6600 and 4GB of DDR3 RAM, this laptop really runs like a horse. The pre-installed windows 7 OS works like magic with this hardware. No more long boot up like on win XP or system error commonly found on Vista. With Windows 7, HP DV6-1350US is able to boot up in less than a minute and wakes up from sleep or hibernates mode in glimpse of seconds.

The enormous 320 GB of Hard Drive is huge enough to store your multimedia files for years to come. Although you will only get around 250 GB or so when it reaches you, due to the storage of windows 7, recovery disc and other built-in software, the hard disk is a hard-to-miss offer.

Not only the size that makes it be called ultra portable. It is the hardware inside, the screen resolution and the slim design which are the reason for the nickname. HP Pavilion DV2-1030US uses 4 GB of RAM, much bigger than a netbook. It also has a 320 GB of storage, double than the normally space available on netbook. It also has a bigger screen resolution, 1280 x 800, just like an ordinary laptop. You can surely do much with this notebook.

Although not using a dual core processor, however, the new AMD Athlon Neo Processor works very well to horse this laptop. I think it is faster than the Intel Atom processor. Try to compare this laptop with a netbook which uses an Intel Atom and run a same application. You’ll notice that this laptop uses less processor capacity than the Atom base. However, the processor does consume more power so don’t expect to run this unit for more than 3.5 hours without recharging.

There has been reported about the over heat issue of this laptop. The solution for this problem is to upgrade the BIOS. This will cut down the heat issue. Another suggestion is to get a laptop cooler which is basically just some fans put under your laptop to improve the air circulation. It is also a good idea to remove the bloatwares which are preinstalled in this laptop. This will free up some space and memory resources. To sum it all, this laptop is a great choice for those who need the size with a good capability and reasonable price.
